Synopse:
In The Rain Season, Naum, Rute and Gabriel – the tree narrators – describe the personal trajectory in search for happiness. And they walk the path of the body (Gabriel), the roads of the soul (Naum), and the foot-path of the spirit (Rute). Each narrator presents in a confessional tone a unilateral view of reality. Overlapping and intertwining, the tree stories become one. The city of Belo Horizonte, overwhelmed by summer rain, is the background in which the falling rain sets the rhythm of the happenings and thoughts of the characters. Through the rituals of an Amazon religious sect, Rute tries sensations which will take her towards heaven and at the same time ties her to the ground. Naum endures the historic rescue of the city, revisiting places in the search of pieces- of him own. Gabriel, in a conversation to the psychoanalyst, also searches for understanding which mirror lost his face. They display themselves – the tree of them – as pendulums which oscillate between the known and the wanted.
